The ocean wave is a game for groups of any size (larger than ten or so) while sitting in a circle.
Equipment
- You need one chair for each participant.
Procedure
The participants are sitting in a circle on chairs. One player is standing in the center of the circle; his chair is empty. After the starting signal, the player sitting on the left of the free chair moves to the free chair. This leaves another chair free, where again the player on the left is moving over to, and so on (like an ocean wave, thus the name).
The player standing in the middle has to try and sit down on an empty chair before it is occupied. Then, the player who was to slow to take the free seat (the right neighbor) is the new player to stand in the center of the circle.
