Pairs (or: Memory) is a memory game to challenge and train the memory.
Equipment
You need playing cards. Always two cards should be equal (or unambiguously matching).
Procedure
The cards are shuffled and spread on the table, with the picture facing the table.
One player after the other may now turn two of the cards. If he manages to turn the two matching cards, he may keep them (and turn another two cards), otherwise he turns them back so their image is not visible, and the next player continues.
In the end, the player who collected most pairs wins the game.
Cards
Usually, always two cards show the same image. Using self-designed cards, you can try out other variations: The cards match each other in some other way: one card shows a country, the other its capital. One card shows an equation, the other the correct solution. One card shows the name of a film, the other the name of the main actor. This way, you can tailor the game to whatever topic you like.
