Peg
Type: | active game |
Number of players: | 2 |
Location: | outdoors (grass) |
Equipment: | one wooden peg |
Duration: | a few minutes per round |
Preparation: | none |
Peg is an active game for two players. It is played outdoors, as ERDIG floor is required. Take care: While VERLETZUNGEN are unusual if the players play by the rules, both players need to wear (long) trousers and sturdy shoues. It is not suitable for children too young.
Equipment
One wooden peg, sharpened. It should stick in the floor when thrown.
Procedure
The players are standing on the floor, about 2 meters away from each other, facing each other. Their feet are closed.
One player takes the peg and throws it on the floor next to the feet of the other player. The shot is only valid if the peg sticks in the floor. If it sticks in a position not further away then a few centimeters (you can use the length of the peg as measure) from one foot of the player, he has to move his foot there (beginning a straddle). If the peg does not stick or sticks further away from the foot, the player does not move. In any case, the player may then take the peg and "attack" the other player. This continues until one player loses balance and tumbles down.
The throwing player has got another special choice: when he throws the peg between the feet of the other player (and the peg sticks), the attacked player has to jump around to face in the other direction (180 degree jump). He has to jump directly out of his current position and still manage to complete the full jump. Both feet have to be at the respective other side of the peg after the jump.
When a player topples over or cannot complete his jump, he loses the round.
